Mongolian Athletes Compete in IFSC Climbing World Youth Championships
Mongolian junior athletes are gearing up to represent their country at the IFSC Climbing World Youth Championships in Guiyang, China. The young athletes departed from Mongolia on August 20th, and the competition is set to take place from the 21st to the 31st of this month.
The athletes will be competing in various age categories, including u16, u18, and u20, in disciplines such as speed, technique, and bouldering. Leading the team as their coach is Master of Sports T.Och, who will guide and support the athletes throughout the competition.
This year’s event marks a significant return to China, with Guiyang serving as the host city for the IFSC Youth World Championships. It has been seven years since the competition was last held in China, with Guangzhou hosting in 2016.
The IFSC Climbing World Youth Championships are organized by the International Federation of Sport Climbing and serve as the premier annual competition for young climbers worldwide. The inaugural event took place in Basel, Switzerland in 1992, with bouldering being introduced as a discipline at the 2015 championships.
