Mongolian Athletes Make History at Paris 2024 Paralympics
The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games have come to a close, with Mongolian athletes leaving their mark in history. While Mongolian athletes did not secure gold medals in Paris 2024, the Para athletics team managed to clinch the prestigious title. This achievement has not only brought pride to Mongolia but has also brought hope and encouragement to over 111 thousand people with disabilities in the country.
Mongolia saw success in four categories at the Paralympic Games:
– Gold medal: U.Surenjav in Taekwondo women’s K44 category -52 kg
– Silver medal: G.Bolor-Erdene in Taekwondo men’s K44 category -63 kg
– Silver medal: Ts.Battulga in Athletics men’s shot put category F40
– Silver medal: E.Sodnompiljee in Men’s powerlifting -107 kg
In a show of appreciation, the President of Mongolia, U.Khurelsukh, awarded the highest state medals to the Olympic and Paralympic Games medalists. Additionally, D.Nyamkhyu, the President of the Paralympic Committee, was honored with the Sukhbaatar Order for his contributions. Under his leadership, Mongolian athletes have secured a total of 2 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze medals from the Paralympics.
