Monkey Critically Injured in Dog Attack Rescued and Given Shelter

A monkey was rescued by authorities in Antalya after being attacked by stray dogs in the Kumköy District of Aksu. The incident occurred at noon when citizens noticed the monkey running away from the dogs and climbing up a tree. The concerned citizens contacted the Antalya Branch Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks for help.

Upon receiving the report, the Antalya Chiefdom teams affiliated with the Nature Conservation and National Parks Directorate arrived at the scene and safely captured the monkey from the tree. The monkey was then placed in a cage and transported to the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Wildlife Park Rehabilitation Center for necessary health checks under the supervision of the teams.

The DKMP 6th Regional Directorate issued a statement regarding the incident, stating that the monkey, who was without an owner in Aksu district, was rescued from the stray dogs and taken to the rehabilitation center for further care. An investigation has been initiated to locate the monkey’s owner.

The monkey’s owner has not yet been found, and efforts are underway to reunite the monkey with its rightful owner. Meanwhile, the monkey is safe and receiving the necessary care at the rehabilitation center. The authorities urge pet owners to take responsibility for their animals and ensure their safety at all times.
