Mother confesses to strangling 3.5-year-old Efe with a rope
A tragic incident unfolded yesterday in a three-story house on Hal Street, Belediye Sitesi Mahallesi, Kilimli district. Cansever Kalfa, who went out to dispose of garbage, returned home to find his son, Efe Mahmut Kalfa, lifeless in the living room with a rope around his throat. Seeking help from neighbors, the screams attracted the attention of an upstairs neighbor who swiftly cut the string with a knife and called the 112 Emergency Call Center. Despite the efforts of medical teams, it was determined that the child had passed away.
Subsequently, Cansever Kalfa made a chilling confession to the Homicide Bureau, admitting to strangling her son to death. Alleging that her husband was having an affair and unable to cope with the situation, she expressed, “I strangled him with a rope in a moment of despair.”
Following the completion of procedures at the police station, Cansever Kalfa was transferred to the courthouse for further legal proceedings. Meanwhile, the body of Efe Mahmut Kalfa has undergone an autopsy and was handed over to his father’s family. The funeral is scheduled to take place in Akmanlar village of Bartın later in the day.
