Mounted Police to Patrol Camping Area
Mounted police patrols have been deployed this week to ensure the safety of citizens as temperatures rise in Ulaanbaatar. These patrols are playing a vital role in reducing crime and violations in the area, particularly around Ulaanbaatar street and the basin of the Tuul river.
The Mongolian Government has designated 2023-2024 as the “Visit to Mongolia” year, aiming to attract more tourists to the country. As a result, the number of mounted patrols will continue to increase to enhance security measures.
One of the key advantages of mounted patrols is their ability to quickly navigate through areas that are inaccessible by vehicle or on foot. Currently, 12 officers are patrolling in six different directions on horseback. However, the number of mounted patrols is set to increase to 30 in May and June.
These additional patrols will operate in various key areas such as the Gorkhi-Terelj region, camping areas, Khan-Uul, Bayanzurkh districts, and the Tuul river basin. During the Naadam festival, mounted patrols will also take on the role of promoting traditional Mongolian culture and showcasing it to tourists.
Overall, the presence of mounted police patrols is proving to be effective in maintaining security and preventing crimes in Ulaanbaatar. With the expansion of these patrols, citizens and tourists alike can feel safer as they enjoy the warmer weather and explore all that Mongolia has to offer.
