
MPs Delivering Speeches at the General Assembly of the Parliament – BRTK Coverage

The General Assembly of the Republic Assembly recently held a session to discuss various issues and policies. The assembly was chaired by Assembly Speaker Zorlu Töre and focused on legislative and supervisory functions. The urgent discussion of the Pension (Amendment) Bill was also on the agenda and was unanimously accepted.
During the session, several MPs delivered speeches on different topics. Independent Deputy Jale Refik Rogers spoke about “Sustainability in Higher Education,” highlighting the challenges faced by the Ministry of Education in higher education and the need for concrete steps to improve the system.
CTP Deputy Ürün Solyalı addressed the issue of “Purchasing Powerlessness,” emphasizing the erosion of the minimum wage and increased cost of living. Solyalı expressed concern about the impact of these increases on the public and called for immediate measures to protect the people’s purchasing power.
Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı defended the government’s efforts by stating that the minimum wage has reached its best figure in recent years. He also addressed the issue of deportation of illegal immigrants and highlighted the need for effective control of the market in response to proposed minimum wage increases.
CTP Deputy Sami Özuslu discussed “Latest Political Developments,” raising concerns about the delayed organization of memorial ceremonies and the parliament’s meeting schedule. He also called for a discussion of proposed amendment proposals regarding the right to conscientious objection and paid military service.
The session saw constructive discussions and debates on various issues, reflecting the diversity of opinions and ideas within the legislative body.
