
Multiple casualties reported as building collapses in Küçükçekmece

A 3-storey building in Küçükçekmece collapsed for an unknown reason, leading to a search and rescue operation. The incident prompted the dispatch of numerous fire brigade, health, police, and AFAD teams to the scene to assist in the rescue efforts. According to reports, there were individuals trapped under the rubble, prompting urgent action from the emergency response teams.
In a statement issued by the Istanbul Governorship, it was confirmed that the collapse occurred at around 08.40 at the intersection of Belediye Street and Geçit Street in the Kartaltepe District of Küçükçekmece. The Governorship reported that a significant number of AFAD, search and rescue, and medical teams were immediately mobilized to the site to provide assistance in the aftermath of the incident.
Despite the challenging circumstances, the teams were able to rescue 2 individuals who had sustained injuries. The rescue efforts are ongoing as they work diligently to locate any other individuals who may still be trapped under the debris. The collaborative efforts of the emergency response teams reflect their dedication to saving lives and providing assistance in times of crisis.
