Multiple Injuries in Chain Accident in Kartal
A chain accident occurred around 05:00 on Kartal, D-100 Highway, leaving 6 people injured, including 2 children. The accident involved 3 vehicles heading towards Edirne, and emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene.
Witnesses of the accident notified the fire brigade, health, and police teams, who arrived promptly to assist. The injured individuals were provided with first aid on-site before being transported to Kartal Lütfi Kırdar Training and Research Hospital by ambulance.
Police teams took security measures and controlled traffic in a single lane to ensure safety. Once the vehicles involved in the accident were removed with the help of a tow truck, traffic resumed as normal. An investigation into the cause of the accident was initiated by the police.
Mustafa Kılıç, a witness in one of the vehicles, recounted the terrifying experience, stating, “He hit the commercial vehicle, then he hit us, threw us against the barrier, we got stuck. After hitting us on the concrete, he took the barrier and brought us. We were three people. My nephew’s wife was injured, we have nothing. There are 6 injured, two of the man’s children.” “He was also injured,” he said.
