Chain Traffic Accident Causes Disruption on TEM Highway
A chain traffic accident in the Bolu section of the TEM Highway has caused a major disruption in transportation. The accident involved 18 vehicles colliding with each other, resulting in traffic being limited to the direction of Istanbul.
The unfortunate incident occurred at the 2nd viaduct location of the highway, where the return density of holidaymakers was already causing congestion. Upon receiving notification of the situation, health, police, and highway teams were immediately dispatched to the region.
Although six individuals sustained injuries in the accident, they were treated as outpatients by health personnel. However, four people required hospitalization for further treatment.
Due to the controlled transportation from only two lanes as a result of the accident, a significant vehicle density was observed in the affected area. This has caused further delays and frustration for motorists who were already experiencing heavy traffic.
Authorities are working diligently to clear the area and reopen the lanes as quickly as possible. However, due to the extensive damage caused by the accident, the process may take some time.
