Murdered by Love: The Widow’s Dilemma
The incident that took place in May in the rural Dağyenice District of Nilüfer district shook the local community. Kamil Öğütçü, a shuttle transportation provider, was shot and seriously injured by Ali Dinç, a digger operator, after an argument broke out. Aysun Y., a stewardess, was involved in the altercation and reported the case. The victim was eventually pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.
The Provincial Police Department Public Order Branch Directorate Homicide Bureau quickly captured and detained the suspects Ali Dinç and Aysun Y. During his testimony to the police, Ali Dinç confessed his actions, citing jealousy as the reason behind the murder. Aysun Y., on the other hand, expressed her regret and claimed that she didn’t anticipate the incident would escalate to such a tragic outcome.
Following these developments, a trial began with Ali Dinç facing a lawsuit for intentional murder with the district Women’s court acting as the victim. Ali Dinç, in his statement to the court, claimed that he and Aysun Y. had been living in a religious marriage for 13 years, despite Aysun Y.’s prior marriage. He also stated that his actions were provoked by Kamil Öğütçü’s alleged inappropriate behavior towards Aysun.
In response to these claims, Aysun Y. testified that her boss had made disturbing remarks to her previously and that she was a victim of sexual assault at the hands of Kamil Öğütçü. The defendant’s lawyer, Okan Bozkurt, argued that his client did not intend to commit murder and acted in self-defense during the altercation.
The court has decided to request the recording of Aysun Y.’s phone calls leading up to the day of the murder and continued the defendant’s detention. The trial has been postponed to allow for further investigation into the case.
This tragic incident has caused shock and dismay in the local community. It has also highlighted issues of workplace misconduct and interpersonal conflicts that have led to fatal consequences.
