Murderer Confesses to Staging Killing of Ramazan Hodja from Diyarbakır 4 Months Ago
Ramazan Pişkin, the owner of a tea shop in Fatih, Istanbul, known as “Ramadan Hodja from Diyarbakır” on social media, was tragically stabbed to death by 24-year-old Erkut Baykut on January 31st. Baykut was arrested after the incident and is now facing charges of intentional murder. He appeared in court with his lawyer for the ongoing trial at the Istanbul 3rd High Criminal Court.
During the trial, Erkut Baykut confessed to planning the murder. He revealed that he had seen Pişkin on social media months before the incident and had imagined the murder in his mind. Baykut admitted to purchasing a knife two months prior to the incident with the intention of killing Pişkin. He stated that he was under the influence of a drug overdose at the time of the crime.
Additionally, it was mentioned in court that Baykut had a history of psychological problems and had previously been violent towards his own mother. His lawyer requested that he be referred to the Forensic Medicine Institute for a mental health evaluation. However, the court rejected this request, stating that there were no signs of mental illness in Baykut’s behavior during the trial.
