Murderous father-in-law strikes in Amasya, killing son-in-law and injuring daughter
A tragic incident occurred at a gas station in the Yıldız village of Amasya city center. The altercation involved the Şengül family, as the father, Dursun Şengül, confronted his daughter İnci Eser and her husband Halil Eser. It was revealed that İnci had married Halil a month ago without her family’s approval, leading to a heated argument at the gas station.
During the dispute, Dursun Şengül reportedly shot both his son-in-law, Halil Eser, and daughter İnci Eser with a shotgun. Tragically, Halil Eser lost his life at the scene, while İnci Eser suffered injuries to her arm.
Following the incident, authorities, including the police, health, and gendarmerie teams, swiftly responded to the scene. The groom’s relatives who arrived at the gas station were understandably distraught. Halil Eser’s body was later transferred to the morgue at the Amasya University Sabuncuoğlu Şerefeddin Education and Research Hospital for further examination.
Dursun Şengül attempted to flee the scene in his vehicle but was apprehended by gendarmerie teams, who also retrieved the weapon used in the crime. He has since been taken into custody for further investigation.
