MÜSİAD Delegation Holds Meetings with Syrian Businessmen and Officials
A delegation led by MÜSİAD Founding Chairman and International Business Forum (IBF) President, Erol Yarar, recently conducted meetings with Syrian businessmen and officials in Idlib, Aleppo, and Damascus. The discussions during the contacts focused on strategic cooperation in trade, industry, and humanitarian aid.
Yarar highlighted the invitation they received to visit Syria, emphasizing the business opportunities and reconstruction needs in the country. He mentioned the establishment of close relationships with many Syrian business people over time and the collaboration on various international projects. The delegation visited Idlib, Aleppo, and Damascus, holding meetings with key figures in each city.
In the capital city of Damascus, the delegation met with the Minister of Economy and Trade, Basil Abdulaziz, to discuss business and investment opportunities. Yarar emphasized the role of MÜSİAD as an association that develops international economic strategies, not just a business organization. He also mentioned plans for future meetings at an international level.
President of the Syrian Businessmen Association, Yamen Shami, highlighted the importance of strengthening relations with different countries, starting with Turkey. He expressed optimism about the new opportunities in Syria following the challenges faced under the previous regime and the desire to expand international economic networks.
Another member of the Syrian Businessmen Association, Ahmed Abdulgafur, extended an invitation to investors to consider opportunities in Syria. He praised the efforts of MÜSİAD in fostering connections between the two countries and thanked the media for amplifying their message to the world.
Mahmud Ez-Zeyn, another member of the Syrian Businessmen Association, emphasized the discussion of new projects during the meetings in Damascus and expressed interest in leveraging Turkish expertise in construction for the reconstruction of the Syrian economy. The aim is to collaborate in rebuilding and revitalizing the free Syrian economy with the help of Turkish industrial experiences.
Overall, the meetings between the MÜSİAD delegation and Syrian counterparts signify a commitment to enhancing economic cooperation and fostering partnerships for mutual benefit.
