Ambassador of Turkmenistan to France Discusses Musical Cooperation with Paris School
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to France, Maksat Charyev, recently met with Professor Sergei Markarov of the Higher School of Music of Paris, also known as L’ecole Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot. The Turkmen diplomatic mission revealed that the meeting involved discussions on developing a strong partnership between specialized educational institutions in both countries.
One of the key points of the discussion was the potential for collaboration between the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kulieva and the Higher School of Music of Paris, particularly in the area of training talented pianists. The École Supérieure de Paris, founded by renowned pianist Alfred Cortot, aims to uphold France’s cultural reputation and nurture exceptional teachers and virtuosos through comprehensive pedagogy. Currently, the institution educates students from various countries such as China, Japan, Russia, and Korea.
Notably, Professor Sergei Markarov, a distinguished pianist at the Ecole Supérieure de Musique de Paris, was honored with the title of “UNESCO Artist for Peace” in 2002 for his dedication to UNESCO programs and his efforts in promoting cultural dialogue through classical music.
