Hungarian National Football Team to Play Final Preparatory Match Against Israel
The Hungarian national football team has made adjustments to their schedule as they gear up for the summer European Football Championship. Instead of their originally planned match against Malta, the team will now face off against Israel in a pre-tournament showdown.
The Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ) has confirmed that the match will take place on June 8 in Debrecen. This announcement was made via social media with the Israeli team being scheduled as their last preparation match before the European Championship.
According to MLSZ’s post on Twitter, the Israelis, currently ranked 72nd in the world rankings, are expected to attempt to secure their qualification for the continental tournament in Germany via a qualifying round in March. They previously faced off against Switzerland in previous qualifiers, finishing with a 1-1 draw.
The national team, which is under the leadership of head coach Marco Rossi, is set to have a busy schedule leading up to the European Championship. They’re scheduled to face Turkey at the Puskás Arena on March 22, followed by a match against Kosovo four days later, both to be hosted in Hungary.
As the European Championship group stage commences on June 14, Hungary will compete against tough opponents such as the hosts Germany, Scotland, and Switzerland. The team is keen to make a strong impression in the upcoming tournament, and their match against Israel will serve as a vital part of their preparation.
