National Wrestlers Demirtaş and Göçen Win Silver and Bronze Medals
Soner and Osman bring home medals from European Wrestling Championships
Soner, a Turkish wrestler, faced off against Taimuraz Salkazanov from Slovakia in the freestyle 74 kilo final at the European Wrestling Championships held in Bucharest, Romania. Despite his best efforts, Soner lost 5-0 to his opponent, earning his second silver medal in the European championships. With this result, Soner now has a total of 8 medals in his tournament career, including 3 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
In the freestyle 86 kilo category, Osman Göçen from Turkey competed against Ukrainian Vasyl Mykhailov for the 3rd place match. Osman dominated the match with an 8-0 victory, securing the bronze medal in the European championship once again, following his previous achievement in 2022.
Both Soner and Osman’s stellar performances at the European Wrestling Championships have once again showcased the skill and determination of Turkish wrestlers on the international stage.
