Netanyahu Works to Improve Relationship with Trump

According to a recent report by the US-based Axios website, efforts have been made to mend the strained relationship between former US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The two leaders had a falling out after Trump lost the presidential election, but attempts have been made to rebuild their rapport.
People close to Netanyahu reportedly met with Trump on at least four occasions in an attempt to smooth things over. Netanyahu’s aide, speaking to Axios on condition of anonymity, revealed that passages praising Trump from the Israeli Prime Minister’s book were even read to the former US President. However, despite these efforts, it seemed that Trump was still harboring feelings of anger.
There were concerns within Netanyahu’s camp that if Trump were to win the November elections, their relationship may not be as close as it was during Trump’s first term. The report mentioned that Trump’s sharing of a video posted by Netanyahu condemning an assassination attempt on his own Truth Social account gave hope for the future of their relations.
Netanyahu’s team also reportedly sent the video directly to Trump’s team in a bid to reach out to the former president. A former adviser to Trump expressed disappointment with Netanyahu after the election loss but hinted that Trump could potentially work with Netanyahu again if they were both in office next year.
The ongoing efforts to mend the relationship between Netanyahu and Trump reflect the importance of maintaining strong ties between the United States and Israel. Despite past differences, both parties seem willing to work towards rebuilding their partnership for the future.
