New Amendment to Family Medicine Application Regulation Published in Official Gazette
The Ministry of Health has announced important changes in the healthcare system that aim to improve access and quality of services for citizens. According to the new regulations published in the Official Gazette, citizens must update their address with their family physician within 30 days of moving to a new residence. Failure to do so will result in automatic registration with the nearest Family Health Center.
One of the main goals of these changes is to reduce the population per family physician, especially in areas with high population density. This will allow family physicians to allocate more time to each patient, focusing on preventive health services and building stronger relationships with their patients.
In addition, the process of changing family physicians has been streamlined, with a reduced time frame of 1 month for the transition. The number of patients registered with each family medicine unit will also be regulated to ensure fair treatment of both healthcare professionals and patients.
Furthermore, integrated health centers will provide 7-24 services to citizens, ensuring uninterrupted access to healthcare. Family health centers will be located in district centers, offering greater convenience to patients. The opening and licensing process for family health centers will also be expedited, allowing for more centers to be established, including in residential areas.
Moreover, family medicine experts will have priority in transitioning to family health centers, with the aim of increasing the number of specialist doctors in primary healthcare services. This initiative seeks to boost confidence in the healthcare system and improve overall health outcomes for citizens.
These changes represent a significant step towards improving the healthcare system in the country, prioritizing access, quality, and efficiency in the delivery of services to all citizens.
