New Daily Flights to Connect Shanghai and Budapest

Shanghai Airlines to Launch Daily Flights Between Shanghai and Budapest

From the start of the summer schedule, Shanghai Airlines will operate daily flights between Shanghai and Budapest, according to Airportal. Budapest Airport will also add a new destination in southern China.

From the end of March, Shanghai Airlines will switch from three flights per week to daily services between Budapest and Shanghai. Including the airline’s flights to Ningbo, the expansion will mean a 35 percent increase in capacity.

With the daily flights, the airline’s parent company, China Eastern Airlines, will provide even better connections between Budapest and Southeast Asia, New Zealand, and Australia.

In addition, Air China will operate three flights a week between Beijing and Budapest from spring.

At present, four Chinese destinations – Beijing, Chongqing, Ningbo, and Shanghai – are served by direct passenger flights from Budapest, and Budapest Airport plans to add at least one more city in southern China, according to a statement sent to Airportal.

As the portal writes, Budapest Airport is working to promote the expansion of connections with the dynamically growing economic region in the Pearl River Delta. The region, including the cities of Hong Kong, Macau, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou, is recognized as the world’s largest R&D (research and development) hub for information technology and renewable energy. It has attracted a significant amount of recent investment from Hungary and direct connectivity would further boost business and cultural links, as well as tourism.
