New Equipment Installation at Nautilus Floating Data Center

Cerebras Systems Partners with Nautilus Data Technologies for AI Accelerator Installation

American startup Cerebras Systems, known for its advancements in AI accelerators, has announced a new collaboration with Nautilus Data Technologies. The partnership will see Cerebras’ equipment being installed in the floating data center located in Stockton, California, as reported by Datacenter Dynamics.

The Nautilus data center boasts an impressive capacity of 6.5 MW, offering up to 55 kW per rack. In addition, the facility is equipped with backup generators capable of sustaining operations for 26 hours at maximum load. One of the unique features of this center is its innovative Nautilus liquid cooling technology, which utilizes seawater sourced from the nearby San Joaquin River.

Under the agreement, Cerebras will be leasing 2.5 MW of space within the data center. The company plans to deploy its CS-3 systems, which are powered by WSE-3 accelerators. These cutting-edge products are equipped with 4 trillion transistors, 900 thousand cores, and 44 GB of SRAM memory.

To ensure the security of the facility, local authorities provide round-the-clock monitoring, with support from agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, and San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department conducting patrols on both land and water.

This partnership marks an important step forward in the development and deployment of AI technologies, highlighting the collaborative efforts of industry leaders in advancing innovation and efficiency in data processing.
