Hungary Breaks Heat Records Yet Again
Hungary experienced another day of unusually mild weather on Saturday, with several new heat records being broken, according to HungaroMet. The country continues to see temperatures higher than usual for this time of year, with some areas experiencing record-breaking highs and lows.
In southern Hungary, a daytime maximum of 20.2 degrees Celsius was measured outside Szeged, surpassing the previous record for this day set in 1958. Additionally, the dawn temperature was also broken in Kiskunmajsa, with 12.8 C recorded, almost 5 C higher than the daily minimum temperature measured in 2020.
Even in the capital city of Budapest, record temperatures were observed. In the Újpest district, 18.4 C was measured, exceeding the previous daily high recorded in 2020. In other parts of the city, such as Ferihegy and Pestszentlőrinc, the minimum temperature also broke records, reaching 9.9 C.
