New Museum Project Unveiled in Famagusta City by Diacora Burcu

The Diacora Burcu Famagusta City Museum Exhibition Area Project, led by the Famagusta City Museum Association, was recently unveiled to the public. The project aims to showcase the rich history and cultural heritage of Famagusta through an exhibition area located in the historic Diacora Burcu.

During the project’s inauguration, Famagusta City Museum President, Dr. Uğur Ulaş Dağlı, highlighted the significance of Diacora Burcu as one of the 13 horoscopes in the region. He emphasized that the exhibition area marks the first step in promoting the project and aims to raise awareness and appreciation among the public.

Mayor Süleyman Uluçay also spoke at the event, acknowledging the historical importance of the walls in protecting the Turkish Cypriot people in 1974. He expressed that Famagusta holds many hidden secrets waiting to be uncovered, from hidden ventilation systems to secret corridors.

Furthermore, Uluçay mentioned the support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and thanked Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, Fikri Ataoğlu, for his contributions to the project.
