New Title: EL-SEN’s Response to KIB-TEK Management’s Appointment and Promotion Decisions – BRTK

President of EL-SEN Takes Stand Against Unauthorized Appointments
Ahmet Tuğcu, the President of the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority Employees Union (EL-SEN), has expressed his objections to the recent appointments and promotions made within the organization without the involvement and approval of the authorized union.
Tuğcu announced that the KIB-TEK management had made decisions to promote individuals without consulting EL-SEN, which is the recognized union within the institution. However, the EL-SEN Board of Directors took immediate action, holding an extraordinary meeting to address the issue.
As a result of the initiatives taken by the EL-SEN Board of Directors, the KIB-TEK management has agreed to rescind the appointments and promotion decisions in question. Their execution has been suspended until a new meeting on Monday, where union officials will be present.
In a written statement, Tuğcu emphasized EL-SEN’s demand for a fair promotion mechanism that will not disrupt labor peace and will increase service efficiency.
The reaction from EL-SEN demonstrates the importance of proper communication and collaboration between management and labor organizations to ensure fair and transparent decision-making processes within the institution. This incident serves as a reminder of the significance of upholding the collective bargaining agreement and the involvement of union representatives in matters concerning the rights and interests of the employees.
