New Title: Restrictions on Overtaking Imposed on Certain Vehicles on Değirmenlik-Girne Road, BRTK Reports
The Highways Department’s new regulations on the Değirmenlik-Girne mountain road have been published in the Official Gazette. Trucks, full and semi-trailer tractors, and buses are now prohibited from passing vehicles in front of them in both directions along the road.
These new rules aim to increase safety on the road by reducing the risk of accidents. According to the declaration, vehicles using the Nicosia-Kyrenia mountain road are classified under III. class road maximum speed limits. Trucks, tractors with full and semi-trailers, and buses with active auxiliary braking systems must travel at a maximum speed of 40 km/h and use the third gear. Vehicles without or with inoperative auxiliary braking systems must travel at 30 km/h and use the second gear.
These measures are being implemented to ensure the safety of all drivers and passengers using the Değirmenlik-Girne mountain road. It is important for all drivers to adhere to these new regulations to prevent accidents and maintain a smooth flow of traffic.
