New Website and Hotline to Uncover Election Fraud
The Democratic party in Mongolia has taken a proactive stance in addressing election fraud ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections. In an effort to ensure transparency and integrity in the electoral process, the party has established a working group dedicated to investigating and preventing election fraud.
The party has announced the launch of a website and a special hotline where individuals can report any instances of election fraud. By encouraging citizens to come forward with information, the Democratic party aims to identify and address any irregularities that may occur during the election process.
Additionally, in accordance with the Electoral Law, civil migration will be suspended for 60 days leading up to the voting day. This year, civil migration will be closed from April 29 to June 29 in order to prevent any last-minute changes to voter registrations. During the previous elections in 2020, a significant number of citizens moved within a short period of time, highlighting the importance of implementing this suspension period.
Furthermore, Mongolians living abroad will have the opportunity to vote between June 20 and 23 by selecting a single day for voting. Those residing outside of Mongolia are required to register with their home country’s embassy before June 15 to ensure their inclusion in the voter’s list. It is imperative for overseas citizens to verify their registration status prior to the voting day to guarantee their participation in the electoral process.
