Interest-free Marriage Loan Applications Begin for Newlyweds
As of February 15, 2024, young newlyweds under the age of 30 will have the opportunity to apply for an interest-free loan of 150 thousand TL. The loan, which comes with a 2-year grace period, aims to support young couples as they start their married lives.
The application process for the interest-free marriage loan will be conducted online through the website of the Ministry of Family and Social Services. Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş stated that applications will be received, and they are prioritizing cities such as Adıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Malatya, and certain districts in Gaziantep.
In order to qualify for the loan, applicants must be between the ages of 18-29, with a maximum age of 30 at the time of application. Couples applying for the loan must not have a total income exceeding 2 gross minimum wages. Additionally, couples must have a waiting period of at least 2 months and no more than 6 months until the official wedding date.
Minister Göktaş emphasized that successful applicants will be required to undergo training and consultancy services provided by the Ministry before and after marriage. The goal of the loan program is to invest in the future of young people, utilizing the income derived from Turkey’s underground resources.
Applications for the interest-free marriage loan can be made through the “aile.gov.tr” website of the Ministry of Family and Social Services or via e-Government. The program is set to expand throughout Turkey in the future.
The marriage loan carries a 48-month maturity and a 2-year grace period, providing young couples with the financial support needed as they embark on their journey together.
