Nine Arrested in Erzincan for Illegal Betting and Gambling Ring
Operation Against Illegal Betting in Local Sports
In a proactive move to combat illegal betting activities, the Provincial Police Department’s Cyber Crimes Branch launched an operation targeting sports-related betting schemes throughout the city.
As a result of this operation, nine individuals were detained under suspicion of involvement in organizing and facilitating illegal betting on football and other sporting events. The police executed several searches, during which they confiscated a range of items, including one loaded pistol, seven mobile phones, four tablets, three hard disk drives (HDDs), seven USB drives, and various other digital materials.
Authorities are currently conducting further investigations into the suspects and exploring the broader network of illegal betting operations. This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to maintain the integrity of sports competitions and ensure public safety.
