Keçiören Municipality and Hizmet-İş Union Sign Collective Agreement
Turgut Altınok, the Mayor of Keçiören, recently attended the signing ceremony of a collective agreement between Keçiören Municipality and Hizmet-İş Union. During the event, Altınok highlighted the various unique projects that the municipality has undertaken, such as the waterfall, zoo, aqua park, swimming pools, castle, cable car, and tower, which he described as a one-of-a-kind project in Turkey.
Altınok emphasized the hard work and dedication of those who love their homeland and expressed his commitment to continuing to develop and improve the region. He also referenced the upcoming opening of the tower, which will add yet another magnificent work to the municipality’s portfolio.
In addition to discussing the municipality’s projects, Altınok also addressed the issue of employee compensation. He noted that employees in Keçiören Municipality receive higher salaries compared to those working in the metropolitan city. Altınok also criticized the lack of severance pay for retired workers from the Metropolitan Municipality, emphasizing the importance of fair compensation and support for employees.
Furthermore, Altınok highlighted the significant increase in salaries for Keçiören Municipality employees as part of the signed collective agreement. He stated that employees could expect a raise of between 80 and 120 percent, with some set to receive a salary of up to 50-52 thousand TL, including overtime.
Finally, Altınok took the opportunity to address the rhetoric of “Less talk, more work” that was used in the election campaign of certain politicians. He emphasized the importance of tangible work and service, rather than just rhetoric, and highlighted the active role he plays within the community, even being present on the streets at 2:00 am.
Overall, the collective agreement signing ceremony not only solidified the commitment to fair compensation for employees but also showcased the dedication of Keçiören Municipality to ongoing development and improvement within the region.
