No Outdoor Work Allowed from 12:00 to 16:00 Tomorrow and Friday
The Ministry of Labor and Social Security has issued a new regulation prohibiting working outside under the sun between 12:00 and 16:00 tomorrow and Friday. This decision was made in order to protect workers who are constantly exposed to the sun’s rays.
The TRNC Meteorology Department has predicted that air temperatures will be higher than usual, prompting the Ministry to take action to ensure the safety and well-being of workers. The decision is in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Laws and Regulations of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
The Ministry stated that the Labor Law No. 22/1992 will be implemented to safeguard workers who work outside under the sun during the specified times. Working outside under the sun poses a significant danger, especially with rising temperatures, hence the need for this protective measure.
Employers in the Agriculture and Construction sectors are allowed to determine early starting times for work outside residential areas. This flexibility is aimed at ensuring that workers can avoid the hottest part of the day while continuing their tasks.
It is important for both employers and workers to adhere to these regulations in order to prevent heat-related illnesses and ensure a safe working environment. The Ministry of Labor and Social Security will continue to monitor the situation and take necessary measures to protect workers’ health and safety.
