TRNC President Tatar Visits Turkey’s Kahramanmaraş for 104th Anniversary Celebrations
TRNC President Ersin Tatar visited Turkey’s Kahramanmaraş to participate in the events organized for the 104th anniversary of the city’s liberation from enemy occupation. Tatar’s visit included meetings with Metropolitan Mayor Hayrettin Güngör and Governor Mükerrem Ünlüer. He also attended a conference at the Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University and engaged in discussions on the past of the island, the struggle of the Turkish nation, and the founding history of the TRNC.
During the conference, Tatar emphasized the importance of the TRNC within the framework of recent developments. He highlighted the resilience and resistance of the Turkish Cypriot people in the face of challenges and underscored the democratic structure and international participation of the TRNC.
Tatar also addressed the geopolitical significance of the blue homeland, emphasizing the strategic and geopolitical developments in the Mediterranean. He expressed concerns about other nations vying for a position in the region and emphasized the importance of maintaining control over the TRNC’s regions, particularly Karpaz Cape, in international negotiations.
Referring to the strategic importance of Cyprus, Tatar stressed the national security implications of the island and emphasized the need to preserve the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as an independent Turkish state.
In addition to the conference, Tatar met with business people in Kahramanmaraş and commended the city’s progress in various fields, including industry, textile, aquaculture, and agriculture. He also discussed potential investments in the defense industry, highlighting the need for unity and collaboration in this critical area.
Tatar’s visit to Kahramanmaraş underscored the strong ties between the TRNC and Turkey and emphasized the collaborative efforts to address regional challenges and opportunities.
