Northern Cyprus Lions Clubs empowering youth leaders

The Northern Cyprus Lions Clubs have embarked on a new initiative called “ELLI – Emerging Lions Leadership Institute” to cultivate the leaders of tomorrow.

The training program, coordinated by Fikret Şendil, the Founding General Director of the Northern Cyprus Lions Management Circle, kicked off yesterday at Le Chateau Lambousa Hotel and will run for three days. Renowned instructors such as Swiss Past International Director Robert Rettby and GAT – Global Action Team European Regional Leader Italian PDG Carla Cifola are leading the sessions.

The Presidents’ Camp, designed for club and district managers taking office on July 1, 2024, will cover essential topics including Lions International, Communication, Diversity, Lions Clubs International Foundation, Club Success, Effective Meeting Organization, and Creative Thinking.

Under the leadership of Fikret Şendil and with the support of Robert Rettby and Carla Cifola, ELLI – Presidents Camp in Northern Cyprus aims to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles. The program will conclude on Sunday, May 5, with participants receiving certificates and achievement badges from Lions International.

After years of being recognized as an undefined, independent part of Cyprus, Lions International recently designated the region as District 135 Northern Cyprus. This recognition was made possible through the efforts of international relations expert Fikret Şendil and with the backing of PID Elisabeth Haderer. ELLI – Presidents Camp now operates under license in Northern Cyprus, paving the way for a new era of leadership development within the organization.
