Number of Overseas Voters

The Turkish Supreme Election Council (YSK) has announced that 1 million 488 thousand 842 Turkish citizens living abroad cast their votes in the latest elections. The statement came after the YSK completed the counting of all the ballots submitted from abroad. The number of voters who cast their votes from abroad has increased compared to the previous elections.
Turkish citizens living abroad were able to cast their votes at Turkish embassies and consulates. The voting period began on April 27 and ended on May 5. The ballots were then sent to Turkey and counted with the rest of the votes on election day.
The YSK’s announcement shows the increasing importance of the Turkish diaspora in the country’s political landscape. Political parties and candidates have been reaching out to Turkish citizens living abroad and campaigning to secure their votes. In the previous elections, the ruling party secured the majority of the votes from abroad.
The YSK’s announcement also highlights the efforts made by the Council to ensure the integrity of the voting process. The Council has taken measures to prevent any potential fraud or tampering with the votes, including the use of secure ballot boxes and professional election observers.
With the completion of the counting of votes from abroad, the YSK is expected to announce the final results of the elections soon. The elections have been closely watched both within Turkey and internationally, with many seeing it as a test of the country’s democracy and stability.
