AK Party Kocaeli Deputy Radiye Sezer Katırcıoğlu, the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Human Rights Investigation Child Rights Sub-Commission, recently led a delegation to visit the Nurdağı district in Gaziantep, which had suffered from destructive earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş.
During their visit, the delegation met with Gaziantep Deputy Governor Sedat Sezik at the Nurdağı Disaster Coordination Center to receive information about the ongoing work in the earthquake-affected region.
Following the meeting, Radiye Sezer Katırcıoğlu and her team paid a visit to the container city living spaces in the district, which have been established to accommodate those who have been displaced by the earthquakes. Additionally, they visited the AÇEV Child and Family Center where they had the opportunity to meet with the children who have been affected by the natural disaster.
The delegation’s visit to Nurdağı highlights the government’s efforts to assess and address the needs of the community in the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes. Their interaction with both the local authorities and the affected children emphasizes the importance of providing support and assistance to those who have been impacted by the natural disaster.
As the region continues to recover and rebuild, it is crucial for government officials and organizations to work together to ensure the well-being and safety of the residents in the earthquake-affected areas. The visit of the GNAT Child Rights Commission delegation serves as a testament to the commitment of the Turkish government to prioritize the rights and needs of children in times of crisis.
