Nurdağı Receives 136 Earthquake Residences
The construction of earthquake residences in Nurdağı Bademli District continues, as announced by the Metropolitan Municipality in cooperation with TOKİ and AFAD. A total of 456 houses are being built in the region, with 136 houses already completed and delivered to their rightful owners in a ceremony.
During the ceremony, AK Party Group Deputy Chairman and Gaziantep Deputy Abdulhamit Gül emphasized Turkey’s resilience in the face of adversity, stating that despite the challenges faced during earthquakes, the country remains strong. He pledged to continue supporting the recovery efforts and ensuring that every citizen has a safe home to return to.
MHP Gaziantep Deputy Sermet Atay also commended the unity of the state and nation in overcoming the difficult days, while Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin highlighted the rapid progress in Nurdağı’s recovery process.
Mayor Şahin mentioned that infrastructure work is ongoing in the region, including the construction and opening of roads. She expressed gratitude for the unity and solidarity shown during the aftermath of the earthquakes, noting that the progress made in Nurdağı within a year is truly remarkable and unparalleled.
Nurdağı District Governor İsmail Alsancak took the opportunity to thank all those who contributed to the construction of the earthquake residences. Following the speeches, the keys to the 136 completed houses were handed over to their beneficiaries, marking a significant milestone in the rebuilding efforts in the region.
