Nurses and Midwives Union Discusses Cooperation with Ministry of Labor and Social Security
The President of the Nurses and Midwives Union, Ali Özgöçmen, recently met with Minister of Labor and Social Security Sadık Gardiyanoğlu and the Ministry’s Private Secretary Oğuz Köse to discuss potential areas of cooperation with the ministry. The new term board of directors of the union highlighted several key issues during their meetings with the ministry officials.
One of the main topics on the agenda was the base salary problems faced by private sector employees, as well as concerns about the minimum wage. Additionally, the union raised the issue of the lack of nurses in the Social Services Department staff, as well as the proposed nursing homes and elderly care home bill.
In a statement following the meetings, Özgöçmen emphasized the union’s commitment to supporting private sector employees who are working longer hours without receiving proper compensation. He assured employees that the union will stand by them and work to address any complaints related to this matter. Özgöçmen also stressed the importance of ensuring that all private sector members feel safe and supported in their workplaces.
