Regaip Kandili celebrated with prayers in mosques in Istanbul
The night of Regaip Kandili, known as the harbinger of the three holy months, was observed with prayers and special programs in mosques across Istanbul. Citizens flocked to Taksim Mosque, Fatih Mosque, and Bademlik Gülbeden Hatun Mosque in Pendik to participate in the oil lamp programs and worship.
The mosques were filled with worshippers who gathered for the night prayer, with special sermons being delivered by the mosque imams before the prayers. The congregations chanted salawats in unison and expressed their happiness at the arrival of the three holy months.
In addition to the spiritual rituals, Turkish delight was distributed to the citizens leaving Fatih Mosque by the officials of the General Directorate of Foundations, adding a sweet touch to the night of Regaip Kandili.
