Official Gazette Publishes Circular on “Family Protection and Strengthening”
The Ministry of Family and Social Services in Turkey has recently announced the preparation of a new “Vision Document and Action Plan (2024-2028) for the Protection and Strengthening of the Family”. This initiative aims to address key issues related to families and provide necessary support for their well-being.
To ensure the successful implementation and monitoring of the Vision Document and Action Plan, a Coordination Board for the Protection and Strengthening of the Family has been established. Chaired by Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, the board includes high-level representatives from various ministries and institutions who are authorized to make important decisions.
The Board will work to identify challenges faced by families and develop effective solutions through the formation of working groups with relevant experts and representatives. Additionally, an “Annual Activity Plan for the Protection and Strengthening of the Family” will be prepared to guide the implementation of the Vision Document.
At the local level, Provincial Coordination Boards for the Protection and Strengthening of the Family will be established in all provinces. These boards will work in collaboration with the governorships and provincial directorates of family and social services to create “Provincial Action Plans” and “Provincial Annual Activity Plans” tailored to the specific needs of each region.
This comprehensive approach to family protection and strengthening reflects the government’s commitment to supporting families and promoting their well-being. By focusing on coordination and collaboration at both national and local levels, Turkey aims to create a more supportive and nurturing environment for all families.
