
Official Gazette Publishes Presidential Circular on Local Elections

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has issued Presidential Circular No. 2024/1 regarding the upcoming Local Government General Elections, which has been published in the Official Gazette. The circular, in accordance with the Constitution and the Law No. 2972 on the Election of Local Administrations, emphasizes the importance of ensuring orderly management and the honesty of the elections.
The General Election of Local Governments is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 31, and the circular highlights the need for cooperation and support from various public institutions and organizations to ensure the smooth running of the elections. It specifically calls for the allocation of space and vehicles to the district election boards, as well as the provision of essential equipment such as computers, printers, toner, uninterruptible power supply, generators, and qualified personnel to operate them.
The circular underscores the responsibility of all public institutions and organizations, including civil administration chiefs, managers of public banks, and chiefs of the security forces, to provide necessary support and reinforcement for the workforce without any disruptions. It emphasizes the need for maximum effort and sensitivity in order to ensure that the will of the nation is reflected in the ballot box in a healthy and transparent manner.
