Official Gazette publishes Regulation for Low Forest Land Transfers
The Council of Ministers has approved the “Regulation on the Transfer of Low Forest Lands” and decided to publish it in the Official Gazette. This decision was made based on the authority granted by Article 8 of the Law on Transfer and Lease of Low Forest Lands.
The purpose of this regulation is to determine the method for transferring the ownership rights of state lands that were obtained by clearing cover from low forests before January 1, 1955, and are currently being used as agricultural land, to their rightful owners. It also outlines the procedures for the Declaration Examination Commission and the Examination and Objection Commission, the format of the forms to be used, the experts and documents that will be utilized in determining the rightful owners, and specifies that the regulation will be valid for 6 months.
This regulation applies to individuals who acquired forest lands by clearing cover in low-lying forest areas before January 1, 1955, and have been using them as agricultural land since that date, as well as their legal heirs.
The publication of this regulation in the Official Gazette marks an important step towards ensuring that rightful owners of low forest lands are identified and able to claim ownership of their agricultural land. It provides a clear framework for the transfer of ownership rights and aims to streamline the process for all parties involved.
