In addition, Oktay addressed the reluctance of the Greek Cypriot side to share power and prosperity with the Turkish Cypriot community, pointing out their historical dominance and strong ties to the region. He also called for a shift in the dialogue surrounding the Cyprus issue, advocating for a focus on the inherent rights of the Turkish Cypriots as a fundamental basis for any sustainable solution.
Emrah Yeşilırmak, Chairman of the Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee of the Assembly of the Republic, expressed gratitude for President Erdoğan’s call for the recognition of the TRNC at the UN, highlighting the importance of Turkey’s support in lifting embargoes and isolations against the Turkish Cypriot people.
The meeting reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to supporting the TRNC and advocating for the recognition and rights of the Turkish Cypriot people. As discussions continue, it is clear that Turkey remains dedicated to strengthening the TRNC and ensuring the welfare and future of the Turkish Cypriot community.
