Olympic Team Members Swear Oath in July
Hungarian athletes are gearing up for the Paris Olympics, and the ceremonial swearing-in ceremony is set to take place on July 8 at MÜPA (Palace of Arts) Budapest. Zsolt Gyulay, President of the Hungarian Olympic Committee (MOB), shared details about the preparations for the upcoming games.
The Olympic Village in Paris will open on July 12, and MOB staff will travel in advance to arrange accommodations and set up the team’s office. Travel arrangements for athletes are still being finalized, with discussions underway with sports federations to determine arrival times. An agreement with Wizz Air will ensure smooth travel for the athletes.
A series of Olympic qualification events for urban sports is also underway, with the first event scheduled in Shanghai and the final event in Budapest at the Ludovika Campus. Top athletes in BMX freestyle, breakdancing, skateboarding, and sport climbing will compete for spots in the Paris games.
Preparations for the Budapest competitions are progressing well, with a visit from Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), during the event coinciding with Olympic Day. This festival provides an excellent opportunity for Hungarian federations and representatives to observe and measure themselves against the world’s best athletes.
The Paris Olympics’ opening ceremony is scheduled for July 26, with competitions beginning two days earlier. Stay tuned for updates as Hungarian athletes prepare to showcase their talents on the global stage.
