U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan Accepting Applications for Online Professional English Network Program
The U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan is currently accepting applications for the summer 2025 term of the Online Professional English Network (OPEN) Program. Formerly known as the E-Teacher Program, the OPEN Program offers 8-week professional development courses developed by U.S. universities on various topics related to English language teaching.
The program is open to highly motivated pre-teachers, teachers, teacher trainers, or ministry officials who are dedicated to their own professional development and willing to share their knowledge with colleagues. Qualified candidates should be citizens of and reside in Tajikistan at the time of the course, not hold dual citizenship in the United States, have the ability to complete academic work at a U.S. university level (CEFR approximately B2), and dedicate at least 8-10 hours per week to coursework.
In addition, candidates should have regular access to a reliable, internet-enabled device, an understanding of English technical terms, basic technology skills, and the ability to type in English proficiently for online discussions and assignments. Applications must be submitted by April 18, 2025, to be considered for courses beginning in the fall of 2024.
Certificates and digital badges are issued by the U.S. Department of State for all participants who successfully pass the course.
