Opening Ceremony Marks Start of Judicial Year on Monday – BRTK
The 2024-2025 judicial year is set to kick off with a special ceremony on Monday. The event will take place at the Nicosia Open Education Faculty at 10:00 to mark the beginning of the new judicial year.
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Bertan Özerdağ, will deliver the opening speech at the ceremony. President Ersin Tatar, President of the Bar Council Hasan Esendağlı representing the TRNC Bar Association, and Chief Prosecutor Sarper Altıncık are also scheduled to give speeches at the event.
In addition to local officials, the ceremony will be attended by prominent figures from the legal field, including Constitutional Court President Kadir Özkaya, Court of Cassation President Ömer Kerkez, Council of State President Zeki Yiğit, Court of Jurisdictional Disputes President Rıdvan Güleç and his wife Zekiye Güleç, Justice Academy Department President Uğur Parlak, and Azerbaijan Administrative Litigation Department President Xagani Mammadov. Representatives from the Legal Department and other officials from the Republic of Turkey will also be present.
The ceremony marks the official start of the new judicial year and highlights the importance of upholding justice and the rule of law in society.
