Orbán Cabinet Criticized by Weber and EPP for 21 ‘Anti-Hungary Resolutions’
The European People’s Party, under the leadership of Manfred Weber, has approved 21 anti-Hungary resolutions in the European Parliament, according to Tamás Menczer, the communications director of the ruling Fidesz-Christian Democrat alliance.
In a video posted on Facebook, Menczer expressed his concerns about Hungary being “attacked” for issues such as the establishment of the Sovereignty Protection Office and LGBTQ rights. He also mentioned that Hungary has been accused of “not being a democracy” by the European Parliament. Menczer believes that these attacks are aiming to prevent Hungary from accessing the EU funds it is entitled to.
Furthermore, Menczer pointed out that Hungary’s left-wing opposition MEPs have all voted in favor of the resolutions against Hungary. He also highlighted a “clear alliance between Manfred Weber and the Hungarian left,” which has now been reinforced by Peter Magyar, MEP and deputy leader of the Respect and Freedom (Tisza) party.
Menczer emphasized that Hungary will not change its stance despite these attacks, stating that they are being targeted because of their rejection of war, migration, and LGBTQ propaganda.
In light of these developments, concerns are also rising about potential future sanctions from Brussels over Hungary’s budget deficit. This adds to the already tense situation for Hungary, as the European Parliament continues to address various issues related to the country.
It remains to be seen how Hungary will navigate these challenges and defend its position on the European stage.
