Organization of Islamic Cooperation to Hold Extraordinary Meeting for Gaza

The recent attacks by Hamas’s military wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, have once again ignited conflict between the Palestinian territories and Israel. The attacks, which Hamas claims are in response to Israel’s continuous violations against Palestinians and their sacred values, have escalated tensions in the region.
The Israeli army, with the support of the USA and the Western world, has declared war on the Gaza Strip, leading to widespread destruction and casualties. Houses, hospitals, and places of worship have been either partially or completely destroyed, leaving thousands of Palestinians injured or dead.
As the conflict rages on, Islamic and Arab countries have been seeking ways to address the humanitarian crisis in the region, calling for the immediate cessation of attacks and the opening of safe humanitarian aid corridors.
Meanwhile, questions have been raised about the future administration of the Gaza Strip following the war. Jordan and Egypt have both expressed opposition to the presence of foreign forces in the region, emphasizing the need for local control.
In response to the ongoing conflict, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has announced an 8th Extraordinary Islamic Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to discuss Israel’s attacks on the Palestinian people. The summit aims to develop a common Islamic stance and action against the ongoing brutality in the region.
In previous extraordinary meetings, the OIC has issued declarations supporting Palestine’s legitimate right to defend itself and calling for international protection for the Palestinian people. The organization has also invited world countries to recognize East Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Palestine and provide humanitarian aid. As the conflict continues, the OIC remains committed to seeking diplomatic solutions to the crisis and providing support to the Palestinian people.
