Public Worker Bargaining Reaches Partial Agreement in Turkey

A meeting was held today to discuss the bargaining of over 700,000 public workers in Turkey. The meeting was attended by Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Bilgin, the Turkish Heavy Industry and Service Sector Public Employers’ Union, TÜRK-İŞ, and Hak-İş. While a full agreement was not reached, the parties did make progress.

Hak-İş Chairman Mahmut Arslan stated that “As a result of the meeting, we passed a certain stage. We will meet with the Minister again next week. It was a productive meeting, but we could not reach a full agreement.”
