Outrage Over CHP’s Tuncay Özkan’s Alleged Lack of Morality and Ugliness

AK Party officials have strongly condemned the statements made by CHP İzmir Deputy Tuncay Özkan against President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Spokesperson Ömer Çelik and Deputy Chairman Hamza Dağ both expressed their outrage on social media, calling Özkan’s words “ugly” and lacking in political morality.

Çelik emphasized that Özkan’s disrespectful remarks towards President Erdoğan reflected poorly on himself, and compared his attitude to that of Dutch politician Geert Wilders. Dağ also criticized Özkan for resorting to insults, lies, and slander instead of focusing on addressing political issues.

In response to Özkan’s comments, Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc announced that an investigation has been initiated by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. Minister Tunc condemned Özkan’s behavior, stating that insulting and slandering the President, who was elected by the people, is unacceptable.

Other government officials also denounced Özkan’s statements, including Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya, Minister of Trade Omer Bolat, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu. They all emphasized the importance of respecting the President and working towards a stronger Turkey under his leadership.

Communications Director Fahrettin Altun also joined in condemning Özkan’s remarks, calling them immoral and returning the criticism back to the CHP deputy. Altun made it clear that any disrespect towards President Erdoğan would not go unpunished, both legally and politically.

Overall, the AK Party officials and government ministers are united in their stance against the insults directed at President Erdoğan, emphasizing the need for respect and dignity in political discourse.
