
Over 1.7 Million Cannabis Roots Seized in Diyarbakır

Yesterday, a major operation was carried out in the Çavundur Neighborhood of a district in Turkey by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command. The operation, named “Martyr Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Uğur Kartal Narco-Terror Operation,” aimed to uncover the connection between a separatist terrorist organization and individuals involved in the production and trafficking of illegal drugs.
During the operation, a total of 1 million 103 thousand 200 cannabis roots, 678 thousand skunk roots, 475 kilograms of herb, and 36 kilograms of cannabis powder were seized. Additionally, one suspect was detained and taken into custody.
Following the necessary procedures at the gendarmerie, the suspect was transferred to the courthouse for further legal actions. The seized cannabis and skunk plants were destroyed after samples were taken for evidence.
This successful operation highlights the authorities’ efforts to combat narcotic activities and protect the community from the harmful effects of drug trafficking. The fight against illegal drugs continues, with law enforcement agencies working tirelessly to bring offenders to justice and make the streets safer for all citizens.
