Rétvári also stressed the significance of principals being able to offer competitive salaries to secure the best teachers from a pool of applicants, ultimately benefiting Hungarian families by having children taught by esteemed and valued educators. The average salary of teachers and kindergarten teachers saw a 32.2 percent increase last year and a 21.2 percent increase this year, reaching 844,000 forints (2,072 euros).

The budget has allocated 339 billion forints (832.6 million euros) for the 2025 salary increase for teachers and kindergarten teachers, with a continued commitment to raising salaries at a rate equivalent to that of graduates in the coming year.
Expressing gratitude for the dedicated work of teachers, Rétvári assured continued efforts to further enhance the education sector, acknowledging that there is always room for improvement. Teachers in Hungary can expect ongoing support and advancements in their salaries to ensure their valuable contributions are recognized and appreciated.
