
Over 12,000 Palestinian Students Killed in Israeli Attacks since October 2023

The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported a devastating toll on students and educators in Gaza and the occupied West Bank as a result of Israeli attacks. Since October 7, a total of 12,799 students have lost their lives, with the majority of casualties occurring in Gaza. Specifically, 12,681 students lost their lives in Gaza, while 118 lost their lives in the West Bank. Additionally, 598 teachers or school administrators in Gaza fell victim to Israeli attacks.
The impact of the attacks extended beyond fatalities, as nearly 23,000 students were injured in the violence. Of these, 20,311 students were injured in Gaza, while 631 students were injured in the West Bank. The destruction caused by the Israeli army was also evident, with 425 public schools, universities, and related buildings in Gaza being destroyed.
As a result of the ongoing attacks, 788,000 students in Gaza have been deprived of education since October 7, 2023. The scale of the devastation highlights the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in order to protect the lives and futures of Palestinian youth.
